This is a snapshot of what I’ve been working on this year. My intention for my work this year was for it to become more playful. I wanted to release the stress and pressures I put on myself during my residence that ended in summer 2023. For the year following the residency, I struggled to capture a sense of carefree play that I was craving. This year, I started teaching kids classes, and these experiences completely changed my relationship to clay. It allowed me to go back to basics and just have fun with it! Making gnomes, cupcakes, and turtles really brought me out a rut, and now I’m having fun making many fruit themed things.
